After leaving several driving instructors due to their impatience and lack of encouragement; going with Simon was my last chance to make or break driving! Driving wasn't a natural thing for me but I knew it was something I had to tackle for my career. Simon's approach to his teaching and his passion of being a driving instructor really shone through in all his lessons and not once did his own personal and professional problems interfere with his teaching (something which I had endless problems with other driving instructors !) Simon's student centred approach to his teaching is what got me through tackling the dreaded reverse around the corner! After endless techniques, we finally cracked it! I'd been eagerly waiting to learn to drive for ages! I was delighted after contacting Simon that he would be able to fit me in for a lesson on my 17th birthday. After only a few lessons Simon had taught me all the basics and gave me the confidence to become a good driver. About a year ago a friend of mine put me in touch with Simon. It's the best thing I could have done. I passed my test in a very small town in Wales whilst I was at university 15 years ago and I hadn't driven since then. I never really had the confidence to do so. Where I learned to drive there were hardly any roundabouts and no traffic lights so the whole driving thing just felt so daunting. I know people say just get in the car, but I kept putting it off. You can imagine I was dreading my first refresher lesson. I was thinking of cancelling but then I thought it's now or never. Simon was†very reassuring and his calm and funny manner helped to put my anxieties to rest. I felt i'd really achieved something after the first lesson. Since then I've had many more and I look forward to my lessons. I've even got a car and have been out driving by myself. Simon takes the time to explain things carefully. He is extremely patient and if you don't understand something†first time you can ask him to show you or explain the same thing time and time again. Believe me in my case this has been necessary. Not only does he make sure the lessons you receive are thought out carefully beforehand, he takes onboard things you want to cover. So for example, I wanted to make sure I can do certain routes and Simon helped me with these. He has a great sense of humour which really helps to create an easy going workable relationship. I'm so grateful to Simon for helping me get behind the wheel again. Thank you.
