Pass Plus
The Pass Plus course is designed and structured by the Driving Standards Agency with the help of insurers and the driving instruction industry to make newly qualified drivers more aware and become better drivers. Statistics show that new drivers are more likely to have an accident in the first two years of passing their test because of a lack of driving experience and this is why Pass Plus was created.
The course aims to build on your newly gained skills and knowledge and teach you how to anticipate, plan for and deal with all kinds of hazards and be more confident on the roads. Ultimately it can help you to become a safer driver.
The Pass Plus course (minimum 6 hours) is made up of 6 practical modules which include:
- In Town Driving
- All Weather Driving
- Out of Town Driving
- Night Driving
- Dual Carriageways
- Motorways
Taking a Pass Plus course not only improves your driving skills but can also be used to lower your car insurance.
There is no test at the end of the course, evaluations by myself as a driving instructor will take place throughout the course. Upon completion of all modules to an achieved or exceeded standard the Driving Standards Agency will send you a certificate that can be used to present to participating insurance companies who are able to offer considerable savings on your car insurance for completing this course. For a list of insurance companies that support the pass plus scheme see the Official Pass Plus Web site.
